Vertical Carousels

A Vertical Carousel is an automated solution that resembles a giant customized vending machine for your tools, parts, and/or inventory. It consists of rotating shelves in fixed locations to a chain drive & works on the ferris wheel principal. Movement is powered by a motor, which sends the carriers in a vertical loop around a track in both forward and reverse directions. Used vertical carousel storage systems are just as good as new ones but less than half the cost.

In addition to saving space, a Vertical Carousel will dramatically reduce the labor required in picking, because the operator will never walk or search for parts as they do with conventional shelving. Likewise, operators do not have to bend or reach to retrieve an item. As a result, operator fatigue is reduced.

This vertical carousel is a 2000 model. It still looks new and has been maintained by VCA. Unit details are 5,545mm high, 4,270mm wide x 2,140mm deep and 345mm bench with 23 carriers & 250kg storage capacity per carrier. The carriers are 3,600mm W x 600mm D x 360mm H. Each carrier is sub-divided into 2, 3, or 5 intermediate bays to suit storage bins 140mm high, 100mm high and 50mm high or open shelves 360mm high. The carousel comes complete with some assorted bins. It was recently sold.

3 used 1997 model vertical carousels are currently available in Auckland. They are 8.4m high with 33 carriers 3.3m wide x 600mm deep x 400mm high. Each shelf can hold 750kg.
